That is hard to guarantee when forklift drivers grab whatever is closest to the aisle. Pallet flow rack takes the guesswork out. Loads go in at the back of an inclined lane, roll forward on gravity rollers and come out at the front in the order they arrived. We design flow racking for food, beverage and grocery operations across the Gateway / Mid-Pinellas submarket and the rest of the county. (727) 361-6147: 7273616147 ## The FIFO Problem in Food and Freezer Space Food and grocery distribution, including cooler and freezer space, is a major source of racking demand in Pinellas. These operations live and die by rotation. A flow through racking system separates loading from picking. Receiving fills lanes from one aisle while order pickers pull from the other. In a freezer, that layout also cuts the time drivers spend inside the cold room, since each aisle serves only one job. ## What We Size for Each Lane Flow lanes are specific to the load. The rollers, the pitch of the lane and the speed controllers all depend on what you put on them. - Pallet weight range, lightest to heaviest, so loads neither stall nor run fast. - Pallet type and board direction, since rollers need consistent contact underneath. - Lane depth, matched to how many pallets of each SKU you hold at one time. - Number of levels that fit your clear height and the lift your forklifts can reach. - Space at the pick face for drivers to clear loads coming off the exit end. Buildings along Roosevelt Blvd (SR 686) and Ulmerton Road serve distributors who now reach I-275 quickly over the Gateway Expressway. Faster highway access means tighter delivery windows. Pallet flow helps meet them because the next pallet is always at the pick face, waiting. Since there is little land left to build on, deep flow lanes also let these warehouses hold more inventory in the footprint they have. ## How a Project Comes Together We start by collecting pallet weights, SKU counts and turn rates. That data drives the lane count and depth on the CAD drawing. Your quote breaks out the structure, the flow lanes, entry guides, speed controllers and installation labor. Our crew sets the frames, installs and tests each lane with your loads, and adjusts until pallets travel smoothly. Our team handles the permit side for you. ## Recent Installations A sample of racking projects completed across the region. Many layouts put flow lanes on fast, date-sensitive items and keep selective rack for everything else.
